The Club’s biggest event of the summer will soon be here. Fireworks by the fabulous Bartolotta’s, music by Waukesha D.A. Brad Schimel’s 4 On The Floor, live and silent auctions and two sporting clays courses will make for a fun and exciting day at Wern Valley! Everyone is welcome and the whole town is invited. There were over 700 entries at last year’s event. Food including breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by a new vendor, BROWNS BBQ.
Donations of merchandise and cash contributions are made by scores of individuals and businesses each year and are very important to the success of this event. If you are interested in donating to this year’s event, please do so now. There are dozens of last minute donations each year, so better-late-than-never is okay too!
If you’re looking for ideas consider a donation in the name of your business or in memory of a friend or even a raffle “theme board”. Past theme boards have been for Turkey Hunting, Walleye Fishing, Guns, Travel, Bow hunting, Pro-Sports, Bear Hunting, Ladies, and Youth have been popular raffles year in and year out. While most of the wardens are busy checking local lakes this time of year, at least one will be sitting in the dunk tank at the Great Cancer Shootout from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th.
The Club is looking for volunteers to help in the tank area for later in the day. Please let us know if you are interested! 262-968-2400

This spring and summer sure is looking a lot like last year. After getting off to a late start, area crops have been under stress due to the lack of moisture over the last few weeks. Some rain is in the forecast that could be a big help if it comes soon. Compared to last year’s “Monsoon in June”, the 5 ½ inches of rain in one day last month was not near as bad. Dry weather keeps the mosquitoes down and the sporting clays range open, so it’s so far so good up to here. Sporting clays activity has been very good this year.
Bird raising activity is in full swing with half the Club’s 35,000 birds now outside and the last batch of chicks due in this week.
Membership renewals went very well and although fall is still a ways off, renewed interest in membership always kicks in again in late August.
