In 1984, Wern Valley was one of the first clubs in the nation to embrace the fastest growing shs awards including the National Sporting Clays Association – High Volume Gun Club, Quoting sport in America. We are Wisconsin’s oldest sporting clays course and recipient of outstanding Gun Club and Presidents Award. We have hosted three State Sporting Clays Championships, including one held on the hottest day (114 degrees) ever recorded in Wisconsin, the Zone 5 Championship, and for the last several years, the Miller-Lite Sporting Clays Championship, which is also a selection shoot for Team USA that attracts many of the finest shooters in the world. We are a founding member of the Wisconsin Sporting Clays Association and have helped blaze the trail that has made Wisconsin the biggest State Sporting Clays Championship in the nation in recent years.
Our rolling hills and unspoiled views make us one of the most scenic and unique sporting clays venues in the country. Two separate 5-Stands, towers and rustic lodge compliment the immaculate landscaping shooters have come to know along with the course changes made every week.
League targets are user friendly with lots of little tricks to fool you even at close range. Perfect scores are rare, so you don’t have to worry about missing- everyone does! Double guns and semi-autos with open chokes are recommended for those targets. Registered shooters will find our targets fair, easy to see, but tougher than league and twice as tricky. All our stations feature two (or more) fully automated traps.
