In 1984, Wern Valley was one of the first Clubs in the nation to embrace the fast growing sport of sporting clays, a clay shooting game similar to trap or skeet shooting, but different in the way the targets are presented. Our rolling hills and unspoiled views make us one of the most scenic and unique venues in the country. Our course typically offers 12-16 stations and we also have two 5-stands- another fun sporting clays venue. Reservations are not required to shoot, although you may want to call ahead on a Saturday in case of special events. Our rustic lodge is where you sign-up and is a great spot for a refreshing beverage or a bite to eat afterwards!

We currently run 3 leagues throughout the year: Spring (March-April), Summer (May-August) and Fall (September-October). Our league targets are tricky yet fun with target presentation changes every week. League shooters must shoot one score per week and $2.00 of their shooting round from each week goes to a league banquet at the end with food and prizes. Shooters can come on Wednesday, Thursday or Saturday every week and teams consist of 4-7 shooters. Fiocchi ammunition is available for purchase on site and golf carts are also available for rental.

We also host many National Sporting Clays Association Registered Tournaments throughout the year, with some of the biggest turnouts in the State. Our annual 3-day Miller Lite Championship in June draws in hundreds of shooters from all over the country. We are also very proud to announce Wern Valley will be hosting its fourth State Sporting Clays Championship in August of 2012!

Sporting Clays and 5-stand are great group activities, we host many corporate and private sporting clays and upland hunting events year-round; including fundraisers for organizations like Pheasants Forever and the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association. Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our annual Great Cancer Shootout which has brought in over 700 shooters for the past 3 years and has raised over $235,000 for cancer research in just 7 years!
