Upland Hunting - Dogs
Dogs are available with handlers, or bring your own hunting companion.
The club is open to members for dog work and training at no extra charge during summer months with training birds available July through September. We will accommodate requests for any style hunt you may want, be it easy or more challenging. There are no additional fees for guests.
One of the most important aspects of any hunting preserve is outstanding gun dogs. While most members have their own dogs, the Club can provide experienced dogs with handlers by the 1/2 half day. Pointers or flushers can be requested, although pointers are easier to read and generally work best for less experienced hunters.
All roadways are woven wire fenced to help provide hunters with a safe and dog friendly environment. Water in the form of ponds, drainage ditches or wetlands is available in all hunting areas.
Training birds (pheasant and chukar) are available at wholesale prices in August and September as a service to members provide you call ahead to place your order. Your birds will be waiting for you when you arrive. Dog training by reputable local trainers is available. Prices vary by breed and type of training required.
The Club hosts a heartworm clinic that many members take advantage of every year in March. Retriever training classes are offered throughout the summer and usually are booked well in advance. For many members, their dog is the number one reason for joining the club!
